Abbey View Residential Family Assessment Centre is an exciting new service developed by NurtureCare, an established provider recognised for delivering high-quality, compassionate care and support.

We are looking for caring, committed and motivated Family Assessment Support Workers to become part of our founding team.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape a brand-new Residential Family Assessment Centre, supporting parents to develop their parenting skills while ensuring that the welfare, safety and wellbeing of children remains at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role

As a Family Assessment Support Worker, you will work directly with families living within our residential assessment centre, providing practical and emotional support while completing detailed, factual observations of parenting and family life.

Working alongside our Family Assessment Practitioners and Registered Manager, you will play an important role in helping parents develop confidence and independence while contributing valuable observations that inform professional parenting assessments.

Every day will be different, and your work will have a genuine impact on the lives and futures of children and families.

Responsibilities

  • Support parents with their daily parenting routines.
  • Observe and accurately record parent and child interactions.
  • Encourage positive parenting and child development.
  • Promote safe, nurturing and child-centred care.
  • Support families with daily routines, appointments and activities.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and daily observations.
  • Promote safeguarding and report concerns promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and visiting professionals.
  • Participate in supervision, training and continuous professional development.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for children and families.
  • Has experience working with vulnerable children, young people or families.
  • Has excellent communication and observation skills.
  • Can build positive professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Is reliable, organised and able to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates compassion, integrity and professionalism in everything they do.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care, Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification (or willingness to work towards this).
  • Experience supporting children, young people or families.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience within residential childcare or family support services.
  • Experience in a Residential Family Assessment Centre.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child development.
  • Experience recording observations and maintaining professional records.
