We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Accountant to play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of both the company and the broader group. As a member of our Finance Team, you will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Reporting directly to the Senior Commercial Accountant, you will collaborate closely to safeguard company assets and uphold accounting controls.

What you will do:
  • Verify the accuracy of all Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) entries
  • Conduct weekly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare Technical Accounting Papers
  • Establish and recommend accounting policies and procedures to maintain controls
  • Maintain daily updates on cash position reports
  • Ensure adequacy of bank account balances and prompt payment of credit cards
  • Develop spending forecasts for the organization
  • Assist in bi-weekly payroll processing for timely and accurate salary payments
  • Address employee inquiries related to payroll matters
  • Collaborate with People Operations team to maintain payroll systems and ensure tax compliance
  • Record fixed asset purchases, depreciation, and write-offs accurately
  • Manage the fixed asset register
  • Collaborate with HR and Administration to tag company assets
  • Conduct bi-annual inventory counts
  • Post journal entries for accrued expenses, revenue, and prepayments
  • Ensure accurate recording of intercompany transactions
  • Reconcile credit card transactions and follow up on documentation
  • Prepare monthly account schedules and analyze accounts for Balance Sheet and Income Statement flux reports
  • CPA or equivalent accounting qualification preferred
  • Bachelor’s/College Degree in Finance/Accountancy or related field
  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Experience in private company environments with cross-functional team collaboration
  • Highly organized with strong adherence to deadlines
  • Proficiency in cloud accounting software
  • Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards and Philippines Financial Reporting Standards
  • Experience in payroll processing and compliance with government regulations
  • Previous experience in fast-paced startup environments and multinational corporations
  • Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus
