Finance Officer (AU Client - Remote)
Quick Summary
Reconcile bank feeds and transactions on a daily basis. Review, verify, and process supplier bills and invoices within the accounting system.
You will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the finance function, ensuring financial transactions are accurately processed, reconciled, and recorded in line with company policies, accounting standards, and compliance requirements. This may at times extend beyond the duties listed below to ensure deadlines, quality standards, and business objectives are consistently met.
You will manage the day-to-day processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, collections, and payroll support activities, ensuring financial records are maintained accurately and all transactions are processed within agreed timeframes. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage high transaction volumes while maintaining efficiency and strong financial controls.
This role requires maintaining accurate financial records, utilising accounting and CRM systems, supporting Australian payroll and tax-related processes, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of finance activities.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reconcile bank feeds and transactions on a daily basis.
- Review, verify, and process supplier bills and invoices within the accounting system.
- Process accounts payable transactions and assist with supplier payment preparation.
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Record customer payments and allocate receipts against outstanding invoices.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Manage high-volume data entry while maintaining accuracy and data integrity.
- Generate and distribute debtor statements and follow up outstanding accounts as required.
- Support collection activities and manage a high volume of customer accounts while maintaining professional client communication.
- Process customer credits, adjustments, and refunds in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer, supplier, and financial records within accounting and CRM systems.
- Identify, investigate, and escalate anomalies, discrepancies, or unreconciled transactions to management as required.
- Support Australian payroll processing and payroll-related administrative activities.
- Assist with Australian tax-related administration and finance compliance requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end financial processes, reconciliations, and reporting activities.
- Complete assigned month-end tasks within established deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to financial controls, data security, and privacy requirements.
- Respond to internal and external finance-related queries and provide updates as required.
- Utilise systems such as Xero, Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other finance-related platforms to manage records and workflows.
- Support ad hoc finance, administrative, and operational tasks as required by the Finance Manager.
Requirements
~2 min read- 3 years of experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Officer, Bookkeeper, Payroll Officer, or similar finance-related role.
- Strong experience supporting Australian accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and finance administration functions.
- Experience supporting Australian tax and payroll processes is required.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume transaction processing, collections, and account reconciliations.
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero or similar cloud-based accounting platforms.
- Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent is highly regarded.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to manage high-volume workloads while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
- Understanding of confidentiality, financial controls, data privacy, and information security requirements.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines.as business needs evolve
