The People Operations team at OpenTable is dedicated to enhancing the employee experience while prioritizing efficiency and scalability. As a Global Mobility & Immigration Partner, you will play a critical role in leading global mobility and immigration needs.

This role is responsible for leading and optimizing the company’s global mobility and immigration processes. It requires a highly proactive, organized, and diligent individual to ensure smooth, efficient, and effective handling of all related cases. The successful candidate will be a specialist in their field, ensuring that cases are not just handled but driven to successful and timely completion.

Responsibilities

  • As a Global Mobility & Immigration Partner, you will be the subject matter expert and evolve OpenTable’s global mobility and immigration programs, ensuring compliance, scalability, and a consistent employee experience across all markets globally.
  • Proactively gather and share knowledge on immigration laws, visa requirements, and standard methodologies with HR Business Partners and employees.
  • Own and lead the end-to-end process for global mobility, business travel and immigration cases, ensuring efficient and timely completion while creating a positive employee experience.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of global mobility policies, ensuring alignment with local legal requirements and company objectives.
  • Anticipate and identify potential challenges and roadblocks, and effectively partner internally and with external parties to address these, providing innovative solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HR Business Partners, external counsel, and employees, ensuring proactive communication regarding case statuses and managing processes effectively to minimize the need for follow-up.
  • Collaborate closely with external legal counsel to drive timely and accurate information, ensuring that all parties are kept informed and aligned.
  • Work closely with People Operations Specialists to align immigration and mobility processes with overall people operations, such as onboarding, payroll, and benefits administration. Leverage their knowledge of local regulations and practices to ensure compliance and to avoid delays.
  • Partner with other key internal teams such as Compensation, Payroll, Talent Acquisition and Legal to ensure smooth and efficient case management.
  • Identify and implement a scalable and structured approach to handling cases, enhancing efficiency and minimizing disruption and reactive urgent requests.
  • Establish a comprehensive and systematic process for collecting and analyzing data on all costs associated with immigration and mobility for active and upcoming cases. This includes relocation costs, visa expirations, renewals, and new applications providing accurate financial insights for strategic decision-making, budget planning, and executive approval.
  • Review and refine current processes to ensure a proactive approach, focusing on communication and process visibility for partners.
  • Regularly seek feedback from collaborators and adjust strategies as vital to meet business needs.
  • 7+ years of experience in leading global mobility and immigration processes, including visa applications, renewals, and relocations across multiple regions, with a strong focus on USA and European immigration laws and regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of immigration laws, visa categories, work permits, and global mobility standard processes, particularly within Europe.
  • Confirmed experience in managing sophisticated cases with tight deadlines, including the end-to-end handling of visa cases and relocations.
  • Experience in gathering, analyzing, and reporting on data related to immigration and mobility.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining case tracking systems and improving process efficiencies.
  • Experience with HR technology, specifically Workday and Zendesk
  • Experience in managing budgets for global mobility programs, including forecasting and cost analysis.
  • Flexibility with working hours due to the global reach of the business
