Position: Bicycle & Scooter Repair Technician
Location: 102 South Early St. Alexandria, VA 22304
Schedule: Flexible an the timeframe but Friday, Saturday, Sunday mandatory
Compensation Type: 1099 Contractor
Pay Rate: $21.50/hour

We design and engineer our own vehicles, hardware, and software systems to provide a greener, healthier mode of transportation and make the communities we serve more sustainable and livable.

We’re looking for reliable, mechanically inclined individuals who take pride in their work and are ready to support daily fleet maintenance operations.

Veo is seeking a Bicycle & Scooter Repair Technician to maintain and repair our electric vehicle fleet. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring vehicles are safe and ready for riders.

No direct EV experience is required—experience (professional or hobby) with bikes, scooters, cars, or motorcycles is highly transferable.

Responsibilities

→Perform comprehensive repairs on electric bikes and scooters (from tightening bolts to replacing components such as motors)
→Conduct routine inspections and quality checks to ensure all vehicles meet safety standards
→Log and track maintenance records using internal systems
→Monitor and manage inventory levels for spare parts
→Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment
→Support field operations as needed (battery swaps, scooter redistribution, etc.)
→Follow company processes and safety guidelines at all times
→Assist with additional warehouse or operational tasks as assigned

Requirements

1+ year of experience in maintenance, mechanical work, or auto repair
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull scooters/bikes up to 80 lbs
Strong problem-solving skills and a self-starter mindset
Comfortable using smartphone apps for tracking tasks and repairs
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or on a team
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice to Have

Experience repairing bikes, scooters, motorcycles, or automobiles
Basic knowledge of electronics or electrical systems
Background in warehouse, logistics, or field operations

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity. Contractors are not classified as W-2 employees and are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and benefits. This position does not include company-sponsored benefits such as medical, dental, vision, or PTO.

Below is the expected salary range for this position. The listed range is a good faith estimate, and exact compensation and total package may vary depending on market conditions and candidate qualifications.

Pay Range

$19—$21.50 USD
