Our client, an international shipyard group with a strong presence in the Mediterranean maritime industry, is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HSSE Coordinator to join its operations in Malta.
The selected candidate will support the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies while ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable legislation. The role also focuses on promoting a strong safety culture across all departments and operational areas.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- → Plan and develop the company’s health, safety, and environmental strategies.
- → Organise and coordinate training related to safety and environmental practices.
- → Ensure appropriate protective equipment is provided and correctly used by employees.
- → Carry out risk assessments and monitor workplace safety procedures.
- → Keep updated with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards.
- → Maintain and update emergency response plans and procedures.
- → Conduct safety inspections and monitor compliance across departments.
- → Monitor daily operations to ensure safety protocols are consistently followed.
- → Support the company in achieving its health and safety objectives.
- → Prepare and maintain health and safety reports, documentation, and procedures.
- → Perform additional duties related to the role when required.
Requirements
~1 min read- Certification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar HSSE or health & safety role.
- Experience preparing health and safety reports, procedures, and policies.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Fluent spoken and written English is required; Italian will be considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and proactively within an operational environment.
