Partner Forces is seeking a Consultant to support a Department of Homeland Security client focused on strengthening the security and resilience of the nation's critical infrastructure. In this role, you will lead strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and outreach efforts across a diverse membership of federal departments and agencies. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping translate complex initiatives into clear, compelling communications while ensuring projects, engagements, and communications activities are executed successfully. This role is ideal for a communications professional who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Develop and execute strategic communications plans, campaigns, and outreach initiatives aligned with client priorities and mission objectives.
- →Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholder engagement activities, building and maintaining strong relationships across a membership of more than 60 federal departments and agencies.
- →Draft, edit, and coordinate a variety of communications products, including talking points, briefings, newsletters, reports, website content, executive correspondence, presentations, and thought leadership pieces.
- →Advise senior leaders on messaging, communications strategies, stakeholder engagement approaches, and communications best practices.
- →Manage communications and editorial calendars, stakeholder communications, and recurring engagement activities to ensure timely and coordinated messaging across multiple channels.
- →Plan, coordinate, and support virtual and in-person meetings, working groups, conferences, webinars, and member engagements, including scheduling, logistics, meeting materials, and follow-up actions.
- →Lead or support development of annual reports, strategic communications plans, meeting summaries, and other recurring deliverables.
- →Develop visual communications products, infographics, presentations, and data-driven narratives while analyzing communications performance metrics to identify opportunities for improved engagement and outreach effectiveness.
- →Maintain and update digital communications platforms, including websites, social media channels, and related communication tools.
- →Support training, program administration, and stakeholder coordination activities, including participant communications, roster management, metrics tracking, inbox management, and related support functions.
- →Contribute to business development, proposal writing, conference submissions, presentations, Partner Forces marketing efforts, and other strategic growth initiatives as needed.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with experience developing communications for executive and external audiences.
- Demonstrated experience managing stakeholder or membership-based relationships and building trusted partnerships.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing demands.
- Experience working directly with senior leaders and executives in a professional advisory capacity.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work products.
- Ability to build relationships, collaborate across teams, and work effectively in a dynamic client environment.
- Self-starter with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a willingness to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
Qualifications
- US Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
- 5–7 years of professional experience in strategic communications, public affairs, public relations, outreach, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Journalism, or a related discipline.
- Experience developing and executing communication strategies, managing stakeholder engagement efforts, and creating executive-level communications products.
- Experience managing social media content and editorial calendars.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience creating visual communications products using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Experience with Drupal, web content management, Google Analytics, and Section 508 compliance is preferred.
- Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of critical infrastructure security, emergency management, homeland security, or related federal mission areas.
- Experience supporting trade associations, membership organizations, or large stakeholder communities.
