The Generator Parts Purchaser plays a key role in supporting field operations by ensuring technicians have the generator parts and materials needed to complete work efficiently and within service level commitments. This position is responsible for sourcing parts through approved supply chain channels, using preferred suppliers, processing purchase requests, and maintaining accurate documentation within company systems.
This role directly supports operational efficiency, customer service, and cost control by prioritizing urgent requests, securing competitive pricing, and balancing quality, availability, and lead time requirements. The ideal candidate is responsive, detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced remote environment.
Responsibilities

Review, validate, and process incoming generator parts and stock requests in a timely manner.

Source generator parts, materials, and related components from approved and preferred suppliers.

Process purchase requests while ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, part details, and delivery information.

Maintain complete and accurate documentation within supply chain systems, including required data points and attachments.

Track order status and proactively communicate updates, delays, or issues to field teams and internal stakeholders.

Coordinate with vendors to confirm part availability, lead times, shipping details, pricing, and delivery expectations.

Prioritize urgent and critical parts requests to support field technicians and service commitments.

Place orders strategically to support cost savings while maintaining quality, availability, and timeline requirements.

Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and preferred supplier guidelines.

Assist in resolving discrepancies related to parts, shipments, invoices, order accuracy, or vendor performance.

Partner with field operations, supply chain, vendors, and leadership to ensure timely issue resolution.

Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, vendor communication, and service levels.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
Requirements

Experience in parts purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory support, or vendor coordination.

Generator parts, mechanical parts, electrical parts, or field service parts experience preferred.

Strong ability to review part requests, validate information, and process purchase orders accurately.

Experience working with vendors or suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, lead times, and shipping details.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Ability to manage multiple requests, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills with the ability to provide timely updates to field teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Customer-service mindset with a strong sense of urgency in supporting field operations.

Ability to balance cost efficiency, quality, speed, and reliability when sourcing parts.

Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while remaining accountable for order accuracy and follow-through.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using procurement, inventory, ERP, or supply chain systems preferred.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve discrepancies, delays, and vendor-related issues.
