Broadband OSP Analyst

As a Broadband OSP Analyst, you will support the reliability and expansion of the City of Pharr’s fiber optic access network by coordinating outside-plant (OSP) field execution with accurate technical records. This role exists to ensure fiber builds, restorations, and service-affecting events are completed safely, documented correctly, and resolved with minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and verify OSP activities for FTTH infrastructure (aerial and underground), including splicing, terminations, testing, and restoration work
- Use network diagnostic methods to isolate faults and confirm service health across broadband ISP networks
- Maintain as-built documentation, test results, and work order records with strong attention to detail
- Provide technical support for networking systems and related hardware/software, escalating issues as needed

Required qualifications/skills:
- Working knowledge of FTTH/FTTP practices and OSP standards
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN and wireless network implementation and monitoring
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; strong task prioritization in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-service orientation and professional presentation

Your day is structured around scheduled field windows and service priorities within Pharr Connect’s Fiber Division operating hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with Saturday coverage). You review overnight alerts and ticket queues, confirm site access and locates, and align timing with crews and internal stakeholders. Throughout the shift, you validate test readings, update maps and records, and communicate status clearly to keep work moving. When unexpected outages occur, you pivot quickly—tracking progress, documenting findings, and ensuring the right information reaches the right teams. The day closes with clean handoffs, finalized documentation, and readiness for the next service window.
