Triple P India (TPI) is a strategic extension of the firm’s platform, established to build a high-quality team that operates as an integrated part of U.S.-based teams. Professionals in TPI are involved in live engagements from the outset, contributing to analysis, execution and client deliverables in coordination with colleagues across the firm. The platform is designed to provide meaningful responsibility, direct exposure to senior leadership and long-term growth in a high-performance environment.
The Director, Investment Banking (IB) role at Portage Point represents a unique opportunity to lead transaction execution, build firm integrated advisory capabilities and shape the continued growth of the IB platform within TPI. As the senior leader of the India-based IB team, this Director will oversee the execution of complex M&A transactions, capital raises, restructurings, liability management transactions, special situations and strategic advisory engagements while leveraging partnerships across practice lines to deliver comprehensive client solutions. This individual will partner closely with U.S.-based bankers and firm leadership to establish the India IB roadmap and firmwide commercial discipline and build a differentiated market position. Reporting to the Head of TPI, this Director will be responsible for transaction oversight, team leadership, talent development, process excellence and cross-functional collaboration. In addition to managing active engagements, this individual will play a critical role in recruiting, developing, mentoring and scaling the India IB team.
- Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate program required
- Willing to relocate to or be primarily present in Gurgaon or Mumbai
- 11 plus years of experience at a top-tier investment bank serving U.S.-based clients and deal teams
- Demonstrated experience managing transaction execution teams and complex client engagements
- Expert-level financial modeling and valuation capabilities including DCF, LBO, merger modeling, trading and transaction comparables
- Experience overseeing M&A processes, restructuring, recapitalization, liability management and special situations engagements
- Strong leadership, coaching and talent development capabilities
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skills
- Proven ability to thrive in lean, collaborative team environments
- High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset
- Track record of success in high-pressure, client-facing environments
