Volunteer to help prepare terrain for opening to the general public. In most cases, volunteers will be volunteering in closed avalanche terrain alongside patrol, although in some cases terrain prep will include front-side, non-avalanche terrain. Through dedication, seven 8 hour days will earn you a season pass. Help create memories for our guests again and again.

Requirements

  • Must have advanced or expert skiing skills (skiers only)

  • Must be in good physical condition and able to volunteer in a cold alpine environment on steep double-black diamond terrain wearing ski boots in mixed snow surfaces.

  • Must sign volunteer paperwork prior to completing any volunteering.

  • Must be able to follow all volunteer policies as described in the handbook.

  • Must provide all necessary personal clothing and equipment to do the volunteer position efficiently.

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds

  • Must have an avalanche beacon, shovel, and probe as well as releasable ski bindings.

  • Must have sufficient time to complete a 7 day obligation in 2 months. Bootpacking begins usually around November 7th and is generally wrapped up by mid-January, but start dates are weather and snow dependent.

  • Must be at least 18 years old
