The Vice President of Clinical Transformation is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, and transformation of clinical services across the organization. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role advances high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting organizational growth, sustainability, and performance improvement.

The VP of Clinical Transformation provides executive oversight of clinical and operational functions within health center operations, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission, strategic priorities, and regulatory requirements. This leader drives healthcare delivery redesign, modernization, system-wide efficiency, evidence-based practice implementation, and technology integration to improve patient outcomes, access, quality, and operational performance. The role also oversees grant utilization, operational reporting, and cross-functional initiatives that strengthen care delivery, support frontline teams, and drive organizational change.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision to senior clinical and operational leaders (e.g., Regional Directors, Lead Nurse, Lead Clinician).
  • Indirectly oversees all clinical and non-clinical staff within health center operations by  guiding and monitoring clinical performance and effectiveness.
  • Responsible for hiring, performance management, coaching, and development of leadership team members in the clinical setting.
  • Establishes and executes a comprehensive clinical operations strategy aligned with organizational priorities and growth objectives.
  • Provides executive leadership for all health center operations, ensuring efficient, consistent, and high-quality care delivery across sites.
  • Partners with the Chief Medical Officer and Senior Leadership Team to align clinical operations with medical, legal, financial, and organizational strategies.
  • Identifies emerging healthcare trends, technologies, and operational best practices to enhance organizational performance and scalability.
  • Leads clinical transformation initiatives focused on healthcare delivery redesign, modernization, evidence-based practice implementation, and operational improvement to enhance patient outcomes, access, quality, and experience.
  • Advances innovative and value-based health care strategies that improve organizational performance, equity, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develops and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and operational metrics (e.g., productivity, quality, access, patient satisfaction).
  • Provides regular operational reporting and insights to Senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Identifies performance gaps and implements corrective action plans to achieve clinical and operational goals.
  • Ensures consistent evaluation of health center performance using industry-standard metrics (e.g., HEDIS, RVUs).
  • Oversees the operational execution and compliance of grant-funded programs (e.g., Title X and other funding sources).
  • Ensures accurate tracking, reporting, and utilization of grant funds in accordance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Partners with Finance and Legal & Compliance teams to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability of clinical programs.
  • Ensures all clinical operations comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as accrediting bodies in coordination with the General Counsel.
  • Partners with Compliance and Human Resources to maintain readiness for audits, surveys, and inspections related to clinical operations.
  • Ensures adherence to clinical quality standards, risk management practices, and patient safety protocols.
  • Provides leadership and oversight on the clinical experience to both clinical and non-clinical leaders, including Regional Directors, program leaders, and operational staff.
  • Builds a high-performing, accountable clinical culture focused on collaboration, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Partners with Human Resources to drive recruitment, retention, workforce planning, and leadership development strategies for clinical staff.
  • Leads performance management processes including goal setting, coaching, and succession planning for clinical staff.
  • Ensures all health centers operate efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with best practices.
  • Drives initiatives to improve patient access, flow, and overall experience.
  • Standardizes and improves workflows and leads process improvement initiatives to strengthen care coordination, reduce barriers to care, improve operational consistency, and enhance clinical outcomes across all clinical sites.
  • Elevates  quality assurance programs and continuous monitoring of clinical outcomes.
  • Oversees integration and optimization of healthcare technologies, including electronic health records, telehealth platforms, and digital patient engagement tools.
  • Works cross-functionally with IT, HR, Finance, Legal & Compliance, and other departments to support integrated operations.
  • Leads cross-functional change management initiatives related to clinical transformation, operational redesign, growth strategies, and system implementation.
  • Actively participates in Senior Leadership Team meetings and contributes to enterprise-wide decision-making on clinical services and access.
  • Partners with clinical, operational, and technology leaders to evaluate and implement innovative solutions that improve healthcare delivery and organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Clinical healthcare related degree required, Masters or above preferred.  This includes Bachelor of Nursing (BSN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistance (PA), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), and/or Physician (MD or DO).   
  • Minimum 10+ years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum 5+ years of direct clinical leadership experience, with oversight of multi-site operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading clinical teams in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Experience with grant-funded programs and regulatory compliance strongly preferred.
