Planned Parenthood Western Pennsylvania (PPWP) is the local affiliate of the country’s leading sexual and reproductive health care advocate and provider.  PPWP operates five health centers located in Allegheny, Westmoreland, and Cambria Counties and provides education and advocacy services throughout western Pennsylvania.   

The purpose of this position is to support the delivery of comprehensive sexual and reproductive healthcare, including clinical abortion care and family planning at Planned Parenthood Allegheny County locations. This position floats between Planned Parenthood locations.  This role requires a combination of skill and flexibility, as well as a willingness to work as a collaborative and inclusive member of a team. This role requires a compassionate individual with demonstrated communication skills and clinical proficiency.

COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:
●    Hourly compensation: $21.50 per hour
●    Full Time employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
●    Generous PTO, Sick and Vacation benefits

QUALIFICATIONS: 
●    High school degree or equivalent required, 
●    Customer service experience required
●    Excellent oral and written communication skills
●    Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Greet patients and initiate intake procedures.   
•    Register patients in the practice management software.
•    Determine patient payment method and conduct agency procedures for the payment type including insurance               verification and benefit verification. 
•    Schedule appointments for patients
•    Answer phones, field patient needs and refer calls to necessary personnel or department.
•    Perform patient check-out procedures including posting charges to the practice management system, collecting fees, requesting contributions per PPWP guidelines, and labeling medications
•    Complete daily health center closing procedures, including closing batches and running end-of-day reports as directed by the Health Center Manager
•    Determine patient’s reason for visit.
•    Provide patients with an accurate estimate of their cost for services, if applicable.  
•    Obtain and update medical history as indicated.
•    With clinician oversight, determine need for point of care testing and perform tests, including pregnancy test, urine dipstick, rapid HIV, rapid hepatitis, hemoglobin and other lab tests approved by CLIA license.    
•    Perform patient blood pressure. 
•    Administer Intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.
•    Venipuncture and collection of blood specimens 
•    Document all services provided in the patient record.
•    Completion of required training for mandated child abuse reporting.  Knowledge of state child abuse reporting laws and completion of timely child abuse reports according to the requirements.
•    Appropriate exam room set up based on patient and clinician needs.
•    Travel between Planned Parenthood Clinics
•    Other duties as assigned by the Health Center Manager


SCHEDULE:     
● Monday through Friday between 8am- 5pm
● Evening and Saturday shifts are required
