PMU Operations & Government Liaison Manager is the PMU's primary point of contact within the government setting and takes ownership of the day-to-day running of the PMU office. This is a visible, hands-on role that combines external stakeholder navigation with internal operations, keeping relationships strong, blockers cleared, and the workspace running smoothly.
Government Liaison & Relationship Management
- Serve as the PMU's primary interface with government counterparts, building trusted relationships across departments and levels.
- Navigate government processes, systems, and hierarchies on behalf of the PMU, ensuring requests, approvals, and actions are progressed efficiently.
- Anticipate and resolve potential blockers before they escalate, drawing on contextual knowledge and relationships to find pragmatic solutions.
- Act as a key facilitator, knowing who to engage, how to frame requests, and how to get things done within government.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain active, productive relationships with key government stakeholders, keeping them informed and engaged as appropriate.
- Represent the PMU professionally in all interactions, building credibility and trust over time.
- Escalate issues or risks to leadership promptly, with clear context and recommended next steps.
Team Support & People Management
- Support the PMU team (Formal management of program managers and technical oversight and sign-off provided by the Senior Program Manager).
- Oversee team welfare and attendance, support the Senior Program Manager in monitoring and encouraging staff performance, and act as a primary point of contact.
- Foster a positive working environment where the team feels supported and well-equipped to perform effectively.
Office & Workspace Management
- Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure all workspace areas and workstations are clean, tidy, and presentable.
- Maintain a log of daily staff attendance and monitor desk and seat availability, communicating updates to the team in real time via Google Chat.
- Report maintenance issues (e.g. spills, damage, broken fixtures, lack of supplies) to the appropriate person promptly.
- Oversee office space access process for staff and visitors, ensuring requests are submitted, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner, and that all access records are kept up to date.

About PxD:
PxD is a global non-profit that harnesses the power of technology, data science, and behavioral economics to provide targeted information to farmers in low and middle-income countries. Providing the right information to the right people in the right way and at the right time increases incomes, protects the environment, and improves well-being. We are evidence-based: we test our interventions with randomized controlled trials to prove our impact and cost-effectiveness, to simultaneously learn from and improve our service, and to demonstrate our value to funders and partners. There are few programmes in international development that are as demonstrably cost-effective as ours.
