  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • The ability to learn:
    • the RF system to perform transactions to train other Packers;
    • to read orders and prioritize pack line duties to meet 100% on time delivery schedule;
    • the manufacturing process of parts packed;
    • QAD functions for packing and shipping; to create, change shippers and change Bill of Lading forms; to attach product to a shipper;
    • to confirm shippers and send ASN's (advanced shipping notification);
    • the quality transactions, the RJ to reject parts so customer concerns get handled on the off shifts;
    • the DP to disposition product so it can be put in stock and to train others the quality transactions;
    • the difference between P&C order numbers and customer order numbers
  • Computer literacy
  • An excellent work record, including attendance
  • Previous leadership experience

  • Assist Supervisor in gathering information, documenting data, and providing input obtained through observation for performance appraisals for the shift's team members.
  • Assist On the Job Trainers in training new team members in how to best perform the duties they are responsible for performing.
  • Coordinate the shift's packing teams with regard to customer requirements, quality regarding UQA parts (Union Station Quality Parts), and approval from Quality Engineer.
  • Distribute necessary work to be performed throughout the shift by Material Handlers and Packers.
  • Coordinate the confirmation of bills of lading and ensure ASN's are accurately sent to customers. Document short shipments and notify customer service and distribution management of the shortages via email.
  • Read and fill customer orders by using visual aids and instructions to complete order requirements. Package parts efficiently, using proper information and labels, cleaning off all old labels, and using correct containers to ship customer orders.
  • Coordinate product received for expedited orders during the shift.
  • Review department production sheets for accuracy.
  • Operate and maintain department hilo(s) by completing hilo safety and maintenance check lists on a daily basis, as well as reporting all mechanical problems.

 

  • Prioritize, coordinate, and set up required orders to be shipped according to customer pick-up window times with the shipping and pack line teams.
  • Review manning assignments of the shift's packaging and shipping-receiving teams, and redirect manpower as needed to ensure daily packing and shipping goals are met.
  • Assure products to be shipped are properly labeled and that bills of lading are accurate and timely.
  • Assist packers in the staging of future jobs by loading parts or empty containers.
  • Move completed totes from the pack line onto skids to be shrink-wrapped.
  • Label shrink-wrapped skids, ensuring all necessary information is present on labels before forwarding to shipping.

 

  • Create customer labels using the RF system, as well as correct and report any shift errors (such as missing labels, duplicate labels, inventory adjustments, etc.)
  • Perform RF transactions to maintain inventory integrity and report errors for inventory adjustment. Use inventory on "First In-First Out" (F.I.F.O.) basis.
  • Complete reject transactions when required, as well as prepare/update shipment reports (pick list, hot list).
  • Perform the necessary RF transactions to properly maintain a daily parts inventory. Forward information to Team Leaders and/or Inventory Control Department as needed.

 

  • Maintain a list of contacts for parts needed, quality problems, presses, customer service, outside processes, scheduling, inventory tracking, and obtaining customer order updates.
  • Contact maintenance for emergency equipment or building repairs and notify team Leader and Manager of issues.

 

  • Properly handle customer concerns or internal quality issues that occur during the shift.
  • Know, understand, and communicate the quality requirements used within the packaging and shipping/receiving departments, and ensure those requirements are followed daily by the shift's team. Report any issues to Team Leaders.
  • Inspect parts being packaged for visual defects, missing operations, or mixed parts. Verify part numbers and ensure all processes are complete.
  • Report any non-conforming product or mislabeled product to Quality Assurance.
  • Utilize 5S workplace organization to maintain a clean work station, department and warehouse.
  • Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area.
  • Ensure compliance with all ISO-14001, TS16949, and safety regulations as specified by the company.

 

  • Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job.
  • Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback of all pertinent information to co-workers and management, including training and validating/appraising work as appropriate.
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers and management personnel to enhance teamwork and communication initiatives.
  • Accept instructions and duties in a positive manner, while treating all co-workers with dignity and respect.
  • Assist in maintaining P&C values (Integrity, People, Customers, Ownership, We can if...Safety) daily, through thoughts and actions.
