~1 min read

As an ophthalmic anaesthesia consultant, you play a vital role in ensuring safe, effective anaesthetic care for patients undergoing eye surgery—from neonates to the elderly. You lead preoperative assessments, tailor anaesthetic plans using local anaesthesia, sedation, or general anaesthesia, and manage risks and complications during procedures. Your expertise supports surgeries ranging from cataracts to complex orbital operations, often performed as day cases. You collaborate closely with ophthalmic surgeons and theatre teams, ensuring smooth, efficient service delivery. Beyond the operating room, you help shape departmental standards, mentor junior staff, and contribute to clinical governance, making you essential to both patient outcomes and service excellence

Benefits:

With competitive hourly rates, daily and weekly payroll services, and revalidation and appraisal services, you will be well-supported in your role. You will also benefit from having a dedicated and responsive consultant to assist you. Additionally, you will have access to CPD events & training courses, exclusive locum opportunities with more preferred supplier contracts than anyone else and rewarding recommendation and loyalty schemes. This comprehensive support system ensures you can focus on delivering the best patient care while advancing your career.
