As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions that enables the development of cutting-edge technology. Qualcomm Software Engineers collaborate across functional teams to meet and exceed system-level requirements and standards. Provides technical leadership and strategic direction for the development, integration, and delivery of software across the full embedded stack, including boot ROM, bootloader, Linux kernel modules, Zephyr RTOS, NPU drivers, Linux user-space applications, and Linux user-space APIs, supporting IE-IOT and edge AI in physical-world applications. Leads the definition of software architecture and technical direction for IE-IOT programs, ensuring alignment with product requirements, platform capabilities, and long-term business objectives. Partners with systems engineers, hardware teams, product stakeholders, and tier-1 partners to establish technical priorities, resolve complex integration issues, and drive execution across multiple software layers. Evaluates system and software requirements to ensure feasibility, quality, performance, and schedule alignment. Drives software strategy for platform bring-up, hardware enablement, performance optimization, and productization. Prefer strong familiarity with the Qualcomm IE-IOT software stack, Qualcomm Linux, and embedded platform development. Experience working in a SoC design house is required. The responsibilities of this role include: * Works independently with minimal supervision and drives technical execution across multiple software layers. * Makes decisions with significant impact on program or project success, financial performance, and/or the ability to meet objectives. * Communicating complex and/or detailed information effectively to audiences with varying levels of knowledge. * Has financial accountability, including managing a small budget and/or providing input into P&L. * Exerts a high degree of influence over key organizational and technical decisions, including decisions with substantial program and organizational impact. * Complete multi-step tasks that may be performed in various orders and require the simultaneous use of multiple cognitive abilities and retention of information in short-term and/or long-term memory. * Regularly defines priorities and contributes innovative solutions to achieve broad business and technical objectives. * Applies deductive and inductive problem-solving skills; may use multiple approaches to solve problems; often works with missing or conflicting information; requires advanced data analysis and interpretation skills. * Develops and refines organizational strategies and provides overall direction for various functional areas and/or the organization. Influences the formulation and achievement of long-term business plans, technical roadmaps, and objectives. Principal Duties And Responsibilities: * Collaborates with individuals inside and outside the project team, including hardware, systems, products, and external partners, to achieve project objectives. * Directs multiple high-level engineering staff in the development and execution of technical priorities and program deliverables. * Motivates teams and functional groups to perform at their best and embrace change. * Brings together the appropriate individuals to define and drive strategy for current and future technology challenges. * Communicates across project and organizational teams to resolve conflicts in implementation schedules, design challenges, and other complexities. * Advises and mentors senior team members to support effective job performance and leadership development. * Serves as both technical lead and organizational lead to ensure multiple projects are driven to completion and aligned to business priorities. * Coordinates teams across multiple projects and overlapping efforts to ensure technologies are implemented accurately, on time, and with required quality. * Works with senior representatives from other groups, such as test, product, customer, and external partner teams, to define end-to-end system functionality. * Aligns individuals from diverse backgrounds, locations, and cultures and secures full commitment to organizational and program goals. * Owns the end-to-end system and defines future direction based on input from multiple stakeholders and business priorities. Minimum Qualifications: * Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. * 8+ years of experience in embedded software development across the full software stack. * 8+ years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, Java, or similar. * 4+ years of supervisory experience. * Experience working in a SoC design house. Preferred Qualifications: * 12+ years of experience in embedded software development across the full software stack. * 12+ years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, Java, or similar. * 8+ years of supervisory experience. * Experience with defining APIs. * Experience with Qualcomm IE-IOT and Qualcomm Linux. * Experience with IP Camera, Industrial IoT, Robotics. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
