A growing power systems manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced engineering leader to oversee the development and execution of low-voltage electrical distribution equipment projects. This role combines technical leadership, team management, and cross-functional coordination to support the successful delivery of complex switchboard and power distribution systems used in mission-critical environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in power distribution design, engineering leadership, and collaboration with manufacturing and project teams in a production-driven environment.
- Lead and support a team of electrical and mechanical engineering professionals
- Promote accountability, collaboration, and timely completion of engineering deliverables
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and design packages
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering processes, documentation, and workflow efficiency
- Mentor team members and support technical growth and development
- Oversee engineering activities related to low-voltage switchboards and power distribution assemblies
- Guide design decisions involving breakers, bus systems, metering, controls, and protection schemes
- Ensure system designs align with customer requirements, one-line diagrams, and performance expectations
- Support design standardization and scalable product development initiatives
- Provide technical direction for UL 891 and UL 1558 applications
- Partner closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are production-ready and practical for fabrication
- Support sales and estimating groups with technical guidance, BOM reviews, and project scope clarification
- Participate in customer-facing discussions including design reviews and technical coordination meetings
- Work with supply chain and vendors regarding component selection and sourcing support
- Ensure engineering activities comply with UL, NEC, and applicable industry standards
- Support factory testing, commissioning activities, and system validation processes
- Maintain documentation related to certifications, testing, and engineering verification requirements
- Manage engineering schedules and priorities to support overall project timelines
- Identify technical challenges and implement risk mitigation strategies early in the project lifecycle
- Support execution of large-scale or technically complex projects from concept through delivery
