A growing power systems organization is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the development and delivery of low-voltage switchboard solutions used in mission-critical environments, including data center applications. This role blends team leadership with technical oversight, ensuring designs are accurate, manufacturable, and aligned with performance expectations.
The position partners closely with internal teams and customers to support execution, improve engineering processes, and maintain high standards across all deliverables.
- Provide direction and mentorship to a team of electrical and mechanical engineers
- Set expectations around ownership, quality, and timely delivery of engineering work
- Review and approve design packages, drawings, and technical documentation
- Drive improvements in engineering workflows, tools, and overall team performance
- Oversee the design of low-voltage switchboard systems, including UL 891 and UL 1558 applications
- Ensure designs align with customer specifications, one-line diagrams, and system requirements
- Guide configuration of breakers, bus systems, metering, controls, and protection schemes
- Support development of standardized and scalable design approaches
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are production-ready and efficient
- Partner with sales and estimating teams on quoting, BOM development, and technical alignment
- Interface directly with customers for design reviews, technical clarification, and issue resolution
- Coordinate with supply chain teams on component selection and vendor strategy
- Support commercial efforts to ensure proposals are accurate and executable
- Ensure all designs meet UL, NEC, and applicable data center standards
- Support testing activities including factory witness testing and system validation
- Maintain documentation related to compliance, certification, and design verification
- Manage engineering timelines in a fast-paced project environment
- Identify technical risks early and implement mitigation strategies
- Support execution of large-scale data center and infrastructure projects
- Contribute to broader business objectives as needed
