A rapidly expanding technology and hardware firm, part of a prominent international group, is seeking a technically astute Financial Accountant to join their Stellenbosch-based finance team. This organisation operates across 17 countries, managing an integrated platform that combines proprietary hardware and software for a global client base. The successful candidate will move beyond traditional back-office functions, working directly with business leaders to influence cash flow, working capital, and commercial strategy. This role is ideal for a commercially curious professional who can translate complex month-end outputs into actionable business intelligence. This is a full-time, in-office position located in Stellenbosch, with standard office hours. Key Responsibilities: Month-End Management: Oversee the complete month-end close process for both South African and UK entities, including journal entries, trial balance maintenance, and comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations. Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring accurate reconciliation between VAT reports and the general ledger. Commercial Cash Flow: Monitor creditor ageing and manage payment forecasting to provide critical data for commercial decision-making. Procurement Optimisation: Identify opportunities to improve payment cycles, including supplier term renegotiations and leveraging early-payment discounts. Accounts Payable Oversight: Review invoice capturing, coding, and VAT treatment performed by outsourced providers to ensure accuracy and compliance. Audit & Controls: Prepare high-quality audit files, maintain working papers, and serve as the primary point of contact for external audit engagements. Internal Frameworks: Strengthen and document internal control processes to ensure financial integrity. Payroll Administration: Manage payroll reconciliations, departmental cost allocations, and all statutory payroll submissions. Business Insight: Convert financial data into meaningful commentary to assist commercial and operational teams in strategic planning. Requirements Minimum of 2 years post-article experience in a similar financial accounting capacity. Proven experience in taking full ownership of month-end processes across multiple entities (essential). Demonstrable expertise in VAT preparation, submission, and audit file readiness (essential). Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards. High level of accountability and the ability to remain structured and precise under month-end pressure. Preferred Qualifications Professional certification: SAIPA, CIMA, or CA(SA) preferred. Experience with multi-currency accounting and managing international jurisdictions. Prior exposure to creditor management and accounts payable strategy.
