Internal Sales Assistant

An established organisation operating within the retail and wholesale sector is seeking a meticulous and professional Internal Sales Assistant to join their team on-site in Sandton, Johannesburg. The successful candidate will act as a pivotal support structure for the commercial sales operation, managing diverse client inquiries, processing incoming orders, and facilitating an exceptional service experience for both traditional retail consumers and extensive wholesale partners. This role demands a balance of administrative efficiency, customer relationship management, and commercial awareness. Working hours are to be confirmed upon appointment. Key Responsibilities Execute and manage the accurate processing of retail and wholesale orders received via digital channels, telephone, and the internal enterprise systems. Act as the primary point of contact for business-to-business (B2B) wholesale accounts and retail patrons, addressing stock availability queries, pricing structures, and order status updates. Nurture and maintain robust professional relationships with established wholesale client accounts to support seamless reordering cycles. Coordinate directly with internal warehousing and logistical units to monitor consignments and ensure timeous customer deliveries. Assist the commercial team with administrative tasks, including the preparation of formal quotations, client presentations, and wholesale pricing schedules. Contribute to the periodic updating and maintenance of digital product portfolios, wholesale catalogues, and commercial line sheets. Requirements A minimum of a Matric / Grade 12 qualification. Between 1 and 3 years of proven experience within an internal sales, sales coordination, or commercial support capacity. Demonstrated proficiency in utilising CRM or ERP software packages alongside Microsoft Office applications, with particular strength in Microsoft Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication competencies tailored for professional corporate correspondence. Strong organisational capabilities with the capacity to manage competing priorities, track urgent orders, and maintain precise data records. A proactive approach to problem-solving regarding inventory discrepancies, transit delays, or account inquiries. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience operating across both retail and B2B/wholesale environments is highly advantageous. Previous experience or foundational knowledge in graphic design is heavily favored.
