Our constantly evolving portfolio of projects includes parts and assemblies for clients in the aerospace and defense industries. We are seeking a Supply Chain Supervisor to lead purchasing, supplier management, and material readiness activities that support uninterrupted plant operations and on-time customer delivery. This is a working supervisor role—balancing hands-on execution with team leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong procurement and supplier management experience, proven negotiation skills, and the ability to develop high-performing teams. This individual makes data-driven decisions, drives supplier accountability. You'll eliminate material shortages, reduce expedite costs, and ensure supplier performance aligns with operational and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily purchasing activities to ensure timely placement and management of purchase orders.
  • Support buyers in pull-ins, push-outs, cancellations, and shortage mitigation actions.
  • Intervene directly on critical shortages, high-risk materials, and advanced supplier constraints.
  • Lead supplier customer concerns related to delivery, quality, and capacity issues and drive recovery planning.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, MOQ, and service level commitments with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) to support program launches and sustained production demand.
  • Partner with Engineering to drive material cost reduction initiatives, alternative sourcing, and specification optimization.
  • Directly supervise purchasing and supply chain personnel, setting priorities and balancing workload distribution.
  • Coach and develop team capability in ERP utilization, supplier management, and procurement strategy.
  • Partner with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Operations to align material readiness with manufacturing needs.
  • Monitor and manage important metrics including material shortages, past-due purchase orders, rush expenses, and supplier timely delivery.
  • Provide leadership visibility on material risks, shortages, and supplier performance gaps
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing supplier performance and material availability.
  • Prior experience supporting new program launches or sustained production agreements.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong ERP systems experience (JobBOSS, Infor SyteLine, or equivalent).
  • Advanced Excel capability; Power BI experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions under pressure in fast-paced operational
