This is an exciting opportunity to provide professional leadership, strategic direction and clinical governance across Psychology services, while driving service innovation, workforce capability and high-quality outcomes for patients and their families.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Subacute Allied Health Director, the Director, Psychology provides high-level professional leadership and strategic direction for Psychology services across the Division of Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care. The role is integral to the development and delivery of contemporary, high-quality Psychology services and will contribute to divisional and system-wide priorities. Duties for the role will include:

• Provide professional leadership, governance and strategic direction across Psychology services.
• Lead the development, capability and professional standards of the Psychology workforce.
• Drive service innovation, quality improvement and the ongoing evaluation of Psychology services.
• Provide expert clinical consultation, senior clinical guidance and mentorship to Psychology staff.
• Undertake an allocated clinical caseload and provide operational support across the department as required.
• Build strong partnerships across the Division to optimise quality of life and outcomes for patients, families and colleagues.

About you:

• Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), with an endorsed area of practice in Clinical and/or Health Psychology, and approved supervisor status at all levels of supervision.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in adult services, with broad clinical experience in the psychological management of adults across rehabilitation, aged or palliative care, particularly older people with neurological and cognitive impairments.
• Strong leadership capability, with the ability to build cohesive, high-performing teams and lead positive change.
• Advanced clinical expertise in evidence-based psychological practice, including professional supervision and multidisciplinary care.
• Proven ability to develop and improve Psychology services, quality programs and clinical practices, supported by strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving and professional judgement.
