The Concert and Audience Services Coordinator for the Department of Music supports the on-site execution of student events at Lang Concert Hall and provides support for other Music Department performances and events in Lang Music Building. The position reports to the Director of Concert Programming, Production, and Publicity.

The Concert and Audience Services Coordinator’s primary duties begin in August and run through June. The person in this position will work an average of 35 hours per week. The normal weekly schedule will include daytime hours plus evening and weekend hours for scheduled performances. The daily schedule will vary due to the Department’s concert and production/events needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supports all aspects of running the Music department’s sponsored concerts, including chamber music concerts, master classes, departmentally-sponsored student recitals, and faculty-led ensembles (Chorus, Gamelan, Jazz Ensemble, Orchestra, Chinese Music Ensemble, Wind Ensemble and Critical Mass).
  • Schedules and carries out the Lunch Hour Concerts in Parrish Parlours.
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises student workers for Stage Crew and Tech Crew for each Music department event.
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises student publicity workers and student writers for the Music department’s newsletter.
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises front-of-house crews for Lang Music Building.
  • Coordinates publicity for Music-sponsored performances and events in Lang Concert Hall and in the Lang Performing Arts Center.
    • This includes creating and distributing posters; program production (layout, printing, and compilation of program notes); social media; and advertising on outside community calendars..
    • The Concert and Audience Coordinator also maintains the Music department’s YouTube page.
  • Helps identify off-campus performance opportunities at schools, senior-living facilities, hospitals, etc.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with three to five years of job-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Experience working with musicians.
  • Computer literacy, preferably including familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Audition.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with theatrical production (stage management, house management, lighting design), web design, live sound, and recording experience.
