About the Role
~2 min readAs a Medical Scientist, you’ll play an important role in delivering a high-quality, multi-disciplinary pathology service to the Port Pirie community. Working within a close-knit and supportive regional healthcare network, you’ll apply your scientific and technical knowledge across a diverse range of routine diagnostic testing, contributing to specimen investigation, analysis and accurate reporting. Regional practice offers the opportunity to build broad, hands-on experience across different patient groups and pathology disciplines, while developing your confidence and autonomy with the support of an experienced team. New graduates, and those set to graduate at the end of 2026, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Port Pirie offers the opportunity to build your career while enjoying a relaxed, connected regional lifestyle. You’ll work closely with colleagues, clinicians, clients and other healthcare professionals, building strong relationships and seeing the direct impact your work has on the local community. When you’re not at work, short commutes, an affordable lifestyle and a friendly community make it easy to enjoy life outside the laboratory, with the Southern Flinders Ranges and Spencer Gulf on your doorstep for outdoor adventures, sport and leisure. If you’re looking for meaningful work, professional growth and a lifestyle with genuine work–life balance, Port Pirie is a great place to start or grow your career.
We’re looking for a Medical Scientist who brings sound scientific knowledge, a commitment to quality and a collaborative approach to their work. You’ll be someone who can work confidently within established procedures, take initiative when needed and contribute positively to a busy laboratory team.
