Red Ember Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Provincial Finance Manager on behalf of our client, based in the Eastern Cape. Our client is seeking a self-motivated, highly organised and financially astute professional to take responsibility for the effective management of provincial financial functions. The successful candidate will oversee the full financial accounting function, ensure strong financial controls and procedures, manage budgets, and provide leadership to support staff. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for: Managing and overseeing the full financial accounting function within the province. Ensuring accurate and complete records of: Source documents Audit trails Bank statements Financial transactions and supporting documentation Implementing, maintaining and monitoring effective accounting procedures and systems. Ensuring adherence to established standard operating procedures and financial controls. Managing and coordinating all financial functions within the province. Providing effective direction and management to support staff. Managing provincial budgets and ensuring effective utilisation of financial resources. Working independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Applying sound judgement and decision-making in a demanding environment. Requirements Minimum Requirements A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related field. At least 5 years' experience in financial management. Relevant staff management experience, including project-based management. Extensive budget management experience. Experience working with Pastel Evolution or a similar accounting/financial system. Strong computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office Suite. A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle for occasional business-related travel. Manage multiple tasks with competing priorities. Remain effective and composed in high-pressure situations. Take initiative and demonstrate a proactive approach. Be outcomes-oriented, rather than solely task-oriented. Work effectively within a demanding environment. Adapt to irregular working hours when required. Knowledge & Additional Requirements Knowledge of relevant local, provincial and national legislative frameworks and dynamics. Strong understanding of financial procedures, controls and governance. Willingness to work additional hours, including weekends and public holidays where necessary. A strong commitment to professional standards, accountability and organisational objectives.
