The Global Environmental Specialist supports environmental compliance, performance improvement, and sustainability initiatives across theme parks, resorts, and entertainment destinations worldwide. This role coordinates environmental projects across multiple locations, ensuring alignment with global environmental standards while supporting compliance with country-specific regulations and operational requirements. The position serves as a key liaison between global EHS leadership, local environmental teams, technical services, construction, and operations to ensure consistent environmental practices that protect guests, employees, brand reputation, and assets—while enabling safe, efficient, and immersive guest experiences.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Support planning and execution of environmental projects across multiple parks, resorts, and international locations. Coordinate environmental deliverables for new attractions, expansions, refurbishments, and infrastructure projects. Track global environmental project milestones, timelines, and deliverables. Ensure alignment between local execution and global environmental strategies and standards.
- →Support compliance with applicable international, national, and local environmental regulations (e.g., water quality, waste management, air emissions). Assist local teams with permitting, reporting, and regulatory engagement. Support development, implementation, and maintenance of global environmental standards, procedures, and best practices. Maintain centralized documentation, metrics, and reporting structures for environmental programs.
- →Assist in identifying environmental risks associated with operations, construction, and special events. Support site assessments, inspections, and corrective action tracking in coordination with local teams. Ensuring environmental controls aligned with broader EHS risk management frameworks. Support contractor environmental expectations and compliance across global sites.
- →Support global sustainability initiatives related to waste reduction, recycling, water stewardship, pollution prevention, and resource efficiency. Assist with environmental data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting for global ESG and sustainability disclosures. Identify opportunities for performance improvement while balancing operational flexibility and guest experience requirements. Support benchmarking and sharing of best practices across locations.
- →Serve as a liaison between global EHS leadership and local environmental teams. Collaborate with operations, facilities, construction, design, and technical services teams internationally. Support training programs and communication tools to promote environmental awareness and consistency. Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards for global leadership and executive stakeholders.
- →Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Natural Resources, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred.
- 2 or more years of experience in environmental compliance, EHS programs, or environmental project coordination
- Experience working with multi site, multinational operations or global programs
- Experience in theme parks, hospitality, entertainment, resorts, or complex operational environments strongly preferred
