Provides the highly skilled, discipline specific technical skills needed for the successful transportation, installation, and maintenance of staging elements for assigned Entertainment venues, projects, events, and productions, to ensure highest levels of show quality and a positive guest experience.
Responsible for the appropriate implementation of all policies and procedures for assigned area and team by Universal Orlando, governing the safe operation of all technical staging equipment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Functions as the point of contact assigned to an Entertainment venue, project, event, or production. Responsible for the appropriate installation/setup, storage, strike, and transportation of staging equipment. Elevates any technical problems or concerns to Lead or management as they occur. Facilitates and troubleshoots with accountability for completion of team objectives from Leads/Supervisor.
- →Operates large vehicles and heavy equipment. Lifts and places irregular objects and maneuvers equipment in all directions in challenging spaces.
- →Assists Tech I with inventory, maintenance, and inspection of stagging equipment. Submits proper paperwork for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly inspections.
- →Responsible for effectively communicating pertinent information, both written and verbal, which pertains to the technical operation of the assigned entertainment venue/event, to other disciplines, entertainment tech management, and team members of the venue/event.
- →Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.
- Technical School preferred.
- A Valid Florida Driver’s License is required to operate company vehicles.
- UO (Universal Orlando) provides annual training which is required for heavy equipment operation.
- 2-5 Years experience within the assigned technical discipline required.
Preferred:
- Prior experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity (Staging) preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
