Meter Technician

The Meter Technician performs field service work involving the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of parking meters, pay stations, and related payment equipment across assigned service areas. Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and communication system issues; replacing defective components; conducting preventive maintenance; and performing operational testing to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

The role requires responding to routine and emergency service calls, maintaining accurate service records, and ensuring all equipment operates in compliance with company and municipal standards. Meter Technicians use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software to identify faults, complete repairs, and support efficient field operations.

Successful candidates demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions. The position also requires excellent time management, professionalism, and customer service skills while interacting with the public, contractors, and internal departments.
