Robert Morris University Campus Recreation is seeking a strategic, creative, and highly motivated leader to serve as the Assistant Director of Club Sports Multimedia & Marketing. Reporting directly to the Campus Recreation leadership team, this position provides high-level administrative direction, operational oversight, and creative vision for the Club Sports department’s media landscape. The Assistant Director is responsible for directing comprehensive live broadcast productions, designing multi-platform digital marketing strategies, and spearheading program-wide student-athlete recruitment operations. By building collaborative partnerships across campus and establishing high-quality production standards, the Assistant Director plays a vital role in expanding the reach, visibility, and brand equity of RMU Club Sports.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct all game-day video production and live streaming operations for club sports competitions, podcasts, and department events, establishing high-quality broadcast benchmarks that meet or exceed collegiate league standards.
  • Conceptualize, develop, and execute long-term branding and marketing strategies designed to maximize club sports visibility, drive spectator attendance, and increase community engagement.
  • Oversee the creation of professional live stream graphics packages, including scorebugs, motion overlays, intermission screens, and real-time team statistics, to deliver an industry-standard broadcast experience.
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and formally evaluate a dedicated student production crew and part-time staff, fostering professional development in sports media and production.
  • Coordinate game-day staffing for home events, managing schedules, availability tracking, and all necessary staff communications.
  • Partner with the Director of Competitive & Recreational Sports and the club sports coaching staff to implement and audit recruitment processes. Assist in establishing a robust data bank of prospects utilizing varied recruiting services, distributing prospect lists, and evaluating recruitment software efficiency.
  • Lead the development of promotional graphics, target digital campaigns, and high-impact highlight videos to support coaches in attracting elite prospective student-athletes to RMU.
  • Manage the setup, maintenance, and inventory of all digital streaming and production equipment, ensuring technical issues are proactively addressed.
  • Serve as an additional point of contact to RMU Athletics and the Academic Media Center to streamline resource sharing and collaborate on university-wide video and audio content initiatives.
  • Manage and optimize the Campus Recreation YouTube channel and secondary digital platforms. Track content analytics and implement tools to assess and improve online brand awareness.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Club Sports website, ensuring accurate and timely updates of team rosters, schedules, results, standings, news articles, recruiting information, multimedia content, and program announcements.
  • Collaborate with coaches and team leadership to ensure all website content reflects current team operations and supports departmental marketing and recruitment objectives.
  • Ensure all ACHA Men’s Division I ice hockey home games are live-streamed in compliance with league standards to facilitate scouting and public access.
  • Support broader Campus Recreation and university initiatives, including representing Club Sports at admissions information sessions, open houses, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Assist the Director of Competitive & Recreational Sports with daily administration and oversight of all Club Sport & Intramural programs, ensuring alignment with departmental, university, and governing body policies.
  • Serve as a resource for club sport coaches, officers, and student leaders by guiding organizational management, policy interpretation, and program expectations.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Competitive & Recreational Sports, or other campus recreation administrators.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required—strongly preferred in Sport Management, Media Production, Sport Communication, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a closely related field. A combination of education and equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in video production, livestreaming, and digital marketing. Demonstrated experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity within a campus recreation, intercollegiate athletics, or club sports environment is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in video production and live-broadcast software (e.g., Streamlabs, OBS, Adobe Premiere Pro) and graphic design applications (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar creative platforms).
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills. Proven ability to lead diverse teams, manage logistics under tight athletic schedules, and work independently with high strategic initiative.
