Position Department: Campus Recreation

Position Type: Staff Part-Time

Overview:

This position will involve assisting in the daily operations of the Student Recreation and Fitness Center. There will be a wide array of duties ranging from customer service to fitness center maintenance and operations. This is a part-time role, not benefit eligible and limited to 950 hours per calendar year and no more than 29 hours per week on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

Supervise the daily operations of the Recreation Center.
Daily inspection and cleaning of all equipment.
Re-racking of free weights.
Conduct the 'check-in' process of individuals using the facility.
Give instructions on the proper use of equipment. Serve as spotters for weight lifters.
May be required to open or close the facility when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by Professional Recreation Staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience in customer service is required and previous experience working in a fitness or recreation center is preferred.
Must be reliable, have good communication skills, and be easily adaptable. Working knowledge of a wide array of strength and cardio equipment would be helpful but not required. Need to be able to lift weights up to 45 pounds.
