We are currently seeking dedicated Safety Officers to join our Occupational Health & Safety department. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

Providing safety training and education to employees and contractors.
→
Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Maintain, review and update safety programs to prevent accidents and improve compliance with standards and regulations.
→
Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures.
→
Investigating accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implementing corrective actions.
→
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of safety programs.
→
Promote the awareness of safety risks and compliance standards by consistently providing advisory information and training to all employees.
→
Participate in incident investigations and facilitate ICAM investigations.

Senior High School diploma (HAVO/VWO/MBO).
Minimum of 3 years of experience as health & Safety officer.
Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and certification in Occupational Health & Safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Good communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.
Willingness to work on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break at Rosebel Gold Mines in Brokopondo.
