About the Role
RPMGlobal (RPM) is seeking a Product Specialist to join our Mine Planning software development team. The Product Specialist supports the development and improvement of our software by helping execute product strategy, improving usability, and assisting with successful product delivery.
This is a full-time role based in our head office in Brisbane CBD. The position is in-office; however, it allows for ad hoc work from home.
RPM is the market leader in enterprise solutions for mine planning, operational execution, simulation, finance, and asset management. This role will primarily work on RPM's advanced mine planning software (MinePlanner and XECUTE), which is used by mining professionals worldwide to design, reserve, schedule, evaluate, and optimise mining strategies. These products combine geological data, engineering logic, and powerful algorithms to help clients make informed decisions across diverse mining environments. RPM is actively looking at opportunities to leverage Cloud and Artificial Intelligence technologies across its mine planning platform as a way to deliver innovative step changes for the mining industry.
Familiarity with contemporary mine planning processes and software, software development practices, and the end‑to‑end product lifecycle is highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and improvement of our software by assisting with feature evaluation, requirements gathering, and product specifications.
- Work closely with Development and Product Management teams to clarify requirements, support testing, and contribute to successful feature releases.
- Gather customer, stakeholder, and market insights through meetings, workshops, and industry engagement to support roadmap planning and continuous improvement.
- Test software releases, provide feedback on usability and quality, and assist with issue investigation and resolution.
- Prepare product documentation, technical summaries, and internal resources to support cross-functional teams.
- Prepare and maintain demonstration environments and models to support the Product Management, Presales, and Content teams.
- Provide assistance to the Technical Analysts and Development teams for the resolution of Level 3 support issues.
- Collaborate across Product Strategy, Development, Sales, Delivery, and Customer Success teams to support successful product delivery and customer outcomes.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, IT, mathematics, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience working with mine planning or geological modelling software such as MinePlanner, XECUTE, Maptek Vulcan, Deswik, Datamine, or similar mining packages.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability and curiosity to understand complex software behaviour.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to gather, interpret, and clearly communicate customer and business requirements.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to build effective relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Legally entitled to work in Australia.
