Sally Beauty offers products for hair color, hair care, nails, and skin care to retail customers looking for salon quality products at a value price. Beauty Systems Group, branded as Cosmo Prof or Armstrong McCall stores, along with its direct sales consultants, sell professionally branded products intended for use and resale by salons to retail consumers.

 

About the role

Leads the enterprise-wide strategy for asset protection, loss prevention, safety, security, and environmental compliance. Accountable for minimizing financial and operational risk, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring regulatory compliance across all locations. This role partners closely with senior leadership to protect company assets, maintain a safe work environment, and enable operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute enterprise strategies to reduce shrink, fraud, theft, and operational losses across stores, distribution, and corporate environments

  • Leverage advanced analytics, reporting, and field insights to identify root causes and deploy targeted, scalable solutions

  • Establish strong internal controls, audit processes, and performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement

  • Partner with Operations and Finance to align loss prevention initiatives with business objectives and financial goals

  • Oversee enterprise safety and physical security programs (surveillance, access control, alarms).
  • Lead incident management and crisis response for major events.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and reduce workplace risk.
  • Lead programs for environmental compliance, including hazardous materials and waste management.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA).
  • Partner cross-functionally to minimize environmental risk and support sustainable operations.
  • Oversee audits, reporting, and corrective actions related to environmental practices.
  • Direct investigations into theft, fraud, safety incidents, and policy violations.
  • Ensure consistent, compliant practices and clear reporting.
  • Partner with law enforcement and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Loss Prevention, Safety, and Environmental team.
  • Drive accountability, talent development, and alignment with business priorities.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, HR, Legal, Risk, IT, and Facilities.
  • Influence decisions and align stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Advise leadership on trends, risks, and actions.
  • Oversee policies, training, and awareness programs.
  • Manage budgets, technology investments, and program performance.

 

 

Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, business, finance, management, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., CFE, CPP, LPC) a plus. 

  • 10+ years in loss prevention, asset protection, safety, or related field with significant experience in a multi-unit retail environment

  • 5+ years in senior leadership roles, experience within loss prevention, asset protection, safety, investigations, security, or a closely related function

  • Proven success driving enterprise loss prevention and safety strategies. 

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and hazardous waste practices

  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, investigations, fraud prevention, and security systems. 

  • Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and leading complex organizations. 

  • Some travel is required.

Working conditions & physical requirements

This will be a hybrid role required to be onsite at the corporate office on specified days. The work environment generally involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and distribution centers, e.g., use of safe work practices with required in office, store, distribution, and travel environments. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The role may involve walking, standing, bending, driving, and carrying light items such as files, documents, or equipment. 

The position requires the ability to travel, visit field locations, and participate in meetings and training sessions.  #LI-Hybrid
