At SanMar, the work you do makes a difference.

The AI Enablement Specialist helps SanMar employees turn approved AI tools into meaningful, day‑to‑day productivity improvements. This role focuses on understanding how work is performed across the organization and identifying practical ways AI can support, simplify, or improve that work.

Working hands‑on with employees and teams, the AI Enablement Specialist supports adoption through coaching, guidance, and problem‑solving, helping new ways of working become consistent and reliable. The role serves as a trusted, approachable resource for applying AI thoughtfully, responsibly, and in ways that fit naturally into SanMar's business operations.

  • Partner with employees and teams to understand current workflows, friction points, and productivity challenges.
  • Use diagnostic questioning to uncover underlying business needs and identify where AI can meaningfully improve work.
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group coaching to support effective use of Microsoft Copilot and other enterprise‑approved AI tools.
  • Translate between business language and AI capabilities, helping users articulate their needs and helping technologists understand the business context.
  • Help users craft effective prompts, build reusable patterns, and troubleshoot real-world AI usage in the flow of their work.
  • Deliver workshops, office hours, and embedded enablement sessions to help drive sustained AI adoption.
  • Deliver role‑based AI literacy content in partnership with Talent Development, tailoring delivery to different audiences and learning styles.
  • Develop practical job aids and reference materials that make AI approachable for non‑technical users.
  • Partner with teams experimenting with AI‑enabled workflows by helping scope and shape initial proof‑of‑concept efforts
  • Guide teams on using governed AI experimentation environments safely and effectively.
  • Track adoption and engagement trends to identify gaps, friction points, and emerging needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years in roles such as business analysis, adoption, enablement, training, change management, customer success, or internal consulting
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit requirements, diagnose underlying business needs, and translate between user problems and technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach non-technical users through new technology adoption with patience, empathy, and clarity.
  • Hands-on working experience with Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Working knowledge of core AI concepts including large language models, prompt engineering, and AI agents — enough to guide users confidently, even if not at a developer level.
  • Exposure and use of additional AI toolsets (Anthropic Claude, ChatGPT, and others) and an active curiosity to keep learning as the space evolves.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills; comfortable running workshops, leading live demos, and tailoring messages to varied audiences.
  • Ability to document workflows, processes, and use cases in a clear, reusable way.
  • Solid understanding of responsible AI principles, data privacy basics, and why guardrails matter.
  • Self-directed, business-oriented, and energized by helping others succeed.
  • Experience with workflow automation or low-code platforms (Power Automate, Power Apps, or similar) a plus.
