Senior Software Development Engineer in Testing 

Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Testing to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing automated testing solutions. As an SDET, you are an expert in the field of test automation, using your expertise to advocate for best practices, coach other SDETs, and implement test frameworks from the ground up. Your experience and leadership will shape the foundation of the test automation framework.

Responsibilities:

• Implement test automation of architectural framework and integrated components.
• Write comprehensive testing suites for large scale, complex systems.
• Execute automated test cases and analyze results.
• Identify, document, and track software defects.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Own the test automation of complex projects or features for the full project lifecycle.
• Execute on complex test plans and collaborate with QA and development team for feedback.
• Write automated test coverage for complex security and performance problem areas.
• Create opportunities for self-improvement outside of normal testing scope.
• Guide and define CI/CD pipeline design and execution.
• Guide automation test strategy at all levels of application architecture.
• Interested in improving quality and accelerating delivery as a partner to engineering teams.
• Experience mentoring testers and developers to improve how teams test whether there are testers on the team or not.
• Experience implementing or working in a team that uses Continuous Delivery, TDD, Pair Programming
• 2+ years in a senior or lead role.
• Experience implementing BDD, TDD, Acceptance Test Driven Development a plus
• Good understanding of Holistic Testing, Agile Testing, Modern Testing, Continuous Delivery or similar model based around testing through the entire process and whole team ownership of testing and quality.
• Experience improving  QA and Dev process end to end including agile practices and monitoring/logging in production.
• Skill in writing tests and test automation that is fast, reliable, maintainable, and supports the ability to make changes safely. 
• Builds test code to the same standard as production code
• Believes that developers can test if they are given the tools, time, and taught the skills. 

Requirements:

9+ years in the software development field  in a a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as:Wide breath of engineering experience.Proven experience leading teams of engineers.Hands-on expertise with application design, software development, and automated testing.Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required; advanced degree preferred.Java: 4+ years.Automation 6+ yearsJavaScript: React preferred Database experience.

Desirable:

• Proven experience leading and mentoring quality assurance teams, including setting technical direction and driving execution across multiple initiatives.
• Deep understanding of authorizations domain and industry standards (e.g., OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML).
• Expertise in  distributed systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
• Experience in implementing authentication and authorization flows within enterprise-scale applications.
• Cloud experience
• FinTech, Banking domain knowledge.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience engaging cross-functional teams including product, design, and infosec.
