SAPRO is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong QuickBooks expertise for a 6–12 month independent contractor engagement with one of our clients. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment, maintains exceptional attention to detail, and works efficiently without compromising accuracy. You will consistently deliver high-quality work and excellent client service, with strong follow-through and uncompromising quality standards being critical to success in this role.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Record accounting transactions and prepare trial balances and financial statements
- →Perform audit procedures over cash, A/R, A/P, inventory, fixed assets, prepaid and accrued expenses, debt, and income statement accounts
- →Prepare tax returns and supporting work papers accurately and efficiently
- →Apply a working knowledge of applicable tax laws and regulations
- →Demonstrate familiarity with FASB, AICPA, and GASB standards
- →Understand and adhere to AICPA rules, regulations, and code of ethics
- →Interpret and apply relevant IRC sections and regulations
- →Meet chargeable hour targets with accurate time and record keeping
- →Demonstrate a solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting processes
- →Manage multiple clients while maintaining high service standards
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Minimum 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously
- Team management experience
- Availability to work US hours with a 4–6 hour overlap (client dependent)
- Industry experience in Construction (job costing, WIP, project-based accounting) and Healthcare (high-volume bookkeeping, operational accounting)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational ability
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technical software
- Collaborative mindset during planning, decision-making, and execution
- High level of integrity, dependability, and accountability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Team-oriented, able to build trust and strong working relationships

- Eligibility to work and reside in South Africa or Zimbabwe (we do not sponsor visas).
