The Human Resources Specialist is a member of the Human Resources Department and is responsible for supporting various Human Resources functions, including Benefits Administration, Payroll Processing, Recruitment and Onboarding, HRIS administration, compliance activities, and employee support. This position serves as a key resource for team members and management while ensuring HR programs, policies, and processes are administered effectively and in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • →Administer and maintain company benefit programs, including health, welfare, retirement, and voluntary benefit offerings.
  • →Serve as a primary point of contact for team member benefit inquiries and assist employees with enrollment, changes, and issue resolution.
  • →Coordinate annual Open Enrollment activities and communicate benefit program changes to team members.
  • →Assist with payroll processing and maintain accurate payroll and timekeeping records.
  • →Review payroll and timekeeping information to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • →Process employment-related transactions, including new hires, transfers, promotions, status changes, and separations.
  • →Support recruitment efforts by posting positions, scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communications, and assisting with onboarding activities.
  • →Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding processes.
  • →Maintain and update employee records, HRIS data, and personnel files while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • →Assist with audits and reconciliation activities related to benefits, payroll, timekeeping, and personnel records.
  • →Prepare HR reports, metrics, and data analysis as requested.
  • →Respond to team member questions regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and benefits.
  • →Assist with employee engagement initiatives, training activities, and special HR projects.
  • →Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • →Partner with managers and supervisors to support HR programs and organizational objectives.

 

 

  • →Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Business Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • →Three (3) or more years of Human Resources experience.
  • →Experience supporting one or more Human Resources functions such as benefits, payroll, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, or HR administration.

 

  • Knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
