Work directly with new products as a packaging engineer. You will design, test document and implement packaging for Resideo products. You will be responsible for cost savings through re-designs of packaging. You will develop common designs across business units. Partner with internal and external contacts including: marketing, project managers, process managers, operations, logistics, customers, suppliers. You will have the opportunity to work with many products and packaging material solutions. Create innovative designs aligning with voice of customer. Every end user will touch your work!.
JOB DUTIES:
- Develop packaging structure, including collaboration with suppliers regarding customizations and prototypes
- Approval and validation of new components, equipment, processes and operations, as they relate to packaging
- Evaluate packaging structures for manufacturability, form, fit and function
- Consult with Purchasing and Manufacturing to determine cost and feasibility of producing the proposed packaging design
- Recommend and drive implementation of efficient packaging procedures as well as innovation in packaging materials
- Provide recommendations and business cases for cost savings and process improvements in packaging or final packaging
- Create and validate Packaging Data Sheet
- Manage ISTA shipping test on all new packaging designs
- Leads and updates sustainability metrics.
- Supports and delivers results on the training and awareness of its staff in the objectives, goals, aspects, impacts, improvements and operational controls to raise awareness about caring for the environment.
Requirements
~1 min read- 2+ years of experience in packaging engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Fluent English proficiency and strong collaboration skills with suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in ARTIOS CAD and ERP systems for design, documentation, and workflow management.
- Proven ability to lead multiple packaging projects end‑to‑end (design, supplier coordination, prototyping, validation, ISTA testing).
- Solid knowledge of packaging manufacturability, cost feasibility, sustainability metrics, and continuous improvement in materials and processes.
- Individuals that remains current on packaging innovations throughout the industry and proliferates leading technologies
- Diverse and global teaming and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to maintain accurate and compliant documentation
- Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done
