Resideo is currently seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to design and develop thermostats and other related smart home IoT products. This role requires prior experience with microcontroller and microprocessor designs, analog circuits, high-speed digital, and some RF experience. You will be involved in the entire NPI (New Product Introduction) design process, from researching new technology, developing proof-of-concepts, creating and owning complete schematics, building prototypes, testing, validating, and launching products into high-volume mass production.
JOB DUTIES:
- VE/CE/Sustaining Project Hardware Design: Lead and participate in NPI project hardware design, including schematic design, PCB layout, BOM release, prototype build, debugging, engineering testing, and QA & Agency support.
- Architectural Development: Utilize your extensive experience to help architect new electrical designs and provide consultation to other engineers and management.
- Testing and Validation: collaborating closely with the test design department to perform testing, collect data, and validate electrical designs.
- Deliver hardware designs on time to project schedules that meet customer requirements.
- Global Collaboration: Engage in conference meetings with global teams, including project leaders and cross-functional teams, to coordinate project progress.
- Collaborate with other engineering functions, product management, suppliers, plant personnel and other stakeholders to develop and implement low-cost design solutions, methods, and product improvements, and to support build programs for platform, major and minor product development projects.
- Perform design analysis (analog, digital and RF), feasibility studies, component selection and schematic capture.
- Implement engineering changes.
- Manage and approve component specifications and engineering drawings and release parts and subsystems for production.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and educational environment.
- Documentation: Ensure thorough documentation of designs, processes, and test results to maintain clear communication and traceability.
- Define system requirements.
- Solve engineering related problems.
- Plan and implements product development and test programs.
- Communicate information to and from internal and external customers.
- Coordinate and consult with departments outside engineering.
- Stay abreast of new technology and competitive products.
- Travel as required (domestic & international)
YOU MUST HAVE:
- 5 + years of experience in product development, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic or any related.
- High level of interest and an understanding of system-level design/integration,
- Experience in electronics product design, development, validation, and document release is a plus.
- Working knowledge of NPI Phase Gate and ECRO Change Management processes.
- Experience with Mentor Graphics Expedition, analog simulation (LT Spice or equivalent), typical lab tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, power supplies, multimeters, etc.
- Excellent testing and troubleshooting skills.
- Good analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
- Good knowledge of electronics manufacturing methods
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
WE VALUE:

- EDA Tools Proficiency: Familiarity with one or more EDA tools such as Mentor, Cadence, or Altium.
- Experience with RF and IoT. Including WIFI, Bluetooth, and sub-GHz radios.
