Responsibilities
~1 min readIT Operations, Maintenance & Support (approx. 60%)
- →Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, network infrastructure, Cisco Switches, Active Directory, and core services (identity/access, backups, patching, monitoring).
- →Maintain and support the school’s custom-built ERP made with Java and Angular (basic troubleshooting and enhancements, as needed).
- →Ensure reliable day-to-day IT operations, resolving incidents and preventing recurring issues through root-cause fixes.
- →Supervise and support the IT Technical Assistant (helpdesk, classroom/device support), including escalation, training, and documentation.
AI Integration & Process Improvement (approx. 40% but grows as operations stabilize)
- →Partner with administration and staff to identify high-impact workflows for improvement and automation (e.g., reporting, communications, data entry, knowledge management).
- →Evaluate, pilot, and implement AI-enabled tools safely, with clear success criteria and staff training.
What We Offer
~1 min readOffice staff work 40 hours per week. During the school year there are 1-2 working Saturdays monthly to foster community engagement, that are either half or full-day. For this position, beyond the school holidays there are two options for vacation days (around 20 flexible days or around 35 fixed days in the summer). After-hours work is rare and is compensated by time in lieu.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Systems Administration, or similar is required without exception. Other qualifications are an asset.
- Systems administration experience in a small/medium organization, comfortable owning a broad scope (servers, network, endpoints, and user support).
- Language: Professional Chinese proficiency (Mandarin or Cantonese) and moderate English proficiency (spoken and written).
- Preferred: Experience applying AI/automation in operations (e.g., workflow automation, scripting, tool evaluation, safe deployment).
- Communication skills, humility, proactivity, and a spirit of selfless service are essential qualities for success in this role (and all roles at the school).
This position may begin at any time from May to July 2026, the sooner the better, considering the candidate's personal and professional circumstances.
