As a Construction Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing on-site supervision, coordination, and leadership to ensure the successful completion of construction projects. You will act as a key point of contact between management, subcontractors, suppliers, and the construction team, ensuring that projects adhere to budget, schedule, quality standards. This role requires excellent organizational skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall on-site supervision and leadership, ensuring all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site construction personnel to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and develop appropriate solutions to maintain project schedule and budget.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality control standards, and adherence to project plans.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address any technical or design-related challenges during the construction process.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and project coordination.
  • Review and interpret project documents, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and work plans, to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings, providing updates on progress, resolving issues, and ensuring effective communication amongst all project team members.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, such as daily reports, construction logs, and progress photos, and ensure project records are properly organized and accessible.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and promote a culture of safety onsite.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in engineering technology, construction management or other relevant programs.
  • Experience in Multi-Family Residential Construction a must
  • Candidates with Gold Seal designation and the aforementioned will be given priority.
  • Candidates with degrees in the aforementioned will be given priority.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Site Superintendent or similar role, overseeing the construction of medium to large-scale projects.
  • Understanding of the implementation of construction contracts 
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and construction drawings.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a construction team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various trades and ownership groups to resolve conflicts.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Procore, MS Projects, and other construction-related software.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different project sites as required.
