Job Overview
This position performs a variety of duties in support of the Shuttle Coordinator and all aspects of shuttle operation to include communication with staff and at times, loading and unloading guests from shuttle buses. Assistant Coordinators will supervise the loading and unloading process, supervising the shuttle staff and ambassador staff assist the shuttle operation.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Direct and indirect supervision of shuttle operation staff, shuttle bus drivers, cart drivers and ambassadors assigned to shuttle operation.
- Hand out and or collect daily reports from drivers and when assigned, enter them into the computer for tracking purposes.
- Ensure staff are clear on their duties and assist in opening and closing process.
- Communicates with supervisors, shuttle bus company supervisors, assistant coordinators, and staff in a positive and respectful manner.
- Assist in set up and tear down of shuttle operations.
- In this position, you may need to provide breaks for staff as needed.
- Respond to emergencies as needed that involve the shuttle operation on or off the fairgrounds.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and be able to multi-task.
- Follow all laws, rules and regulations when driving carts, vehicles, and rental equipment.
- Assists with matters related to shuttle operations and other duties as assigned.
- Promotes the District's F.A.I.R. values by creating a quality guest experience for both internal and external customers.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and ability to work cooperatively with team members.
- Follows oral and written instructions with attention to detail.
- Capacity to work with and without supervision.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to apply applicable laws, rules, and policies.
- Experience in supervision and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Working Conditions
- Involves some exposure to hazards or physical risk that require following safety precautions.
- Works outdoors and is exposed to weather conditions, dust, dirt, and exhaust fumes.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time as well as stand for long periods of time.
- Works a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
