SENIOR MEMBERSHIP ACCOUNT SPECIALIST

SENIOR MEMBERSHIP ACCOUNT SPECIALIST Individual positions within this class focus on membership. Under general supervision, compiles, processes, maintains accurate membership, dues records and information. Processing, maintaining, producing membership lists and labels as requested by various staff. Special project leader, oversee the team activities related to the project. Assist Director of Finance with routine lower-level tasks and other duties as assigned. Non-supervisory position. May occasionally supervise work of rank-and-file volunteers.
RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties listed are required but not limited to and may or may not be continuously performed or ongoing at any specific time.
- Compile, process, maintain and update membership application records, revocations, terminations, dues deductions, adjustments, and various other types of information on-line and maintain applicable hard copy information. Oversee the database team daily process and activities.
- Maintain and update on-line mailing and membership lists; process Steward and/or Officer changes and information.
- Analyze inconsistencies in membership status and dues/fees deduction. Including: a) identifying problems; b) researching data within the office; c) calling jurisdiction/employer, employees, or other sources; d) follow through by reporting to supervisor or following appropriate procedures by making routine demands of the employer.
- Communicate, follow up with employers, demand reports, payment status and improvement on internal .control. Alerts supervisor to problems.
- Work with Accountant (AR Clerk) to balance and reconcile the dues report and per capita tax report.
- Update Unionware and run reports/queries.
- Perform related work as required.
ABILITY TO:
- Perform effectively under pressure and with interruptions, must be detailed oriented and accuracy.
- Learn quickly specific operations within the office.
- Work effectively under pressure of deadlines.
- Meet and deal tactfully and courteously with members, vendors, and others to receive and impart information.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Basic office practices and procedures; basic data processing, use of PC, 10-key/calculator and Excel, Word, Access or equivalent.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: At least five (5) years of increasingly responsible in database work.
A high degree of constancy and accuracy. Work independently with minimal direction, anticipates needs of staff, director, and external organization.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Overtime may occasionally be required. May be required to drive. Must possess a valid California driver’s license; must pass a DMV check and have a good driving record; must have auto insurance that covers business driving (minimum of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per incident bodily injury liability/$100,000 property coverage); and must possess an automobile for business use.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay to commensurate with experience.
