As a Patient Engagement Specialist, you will serve as a vital connection between patients, pharmacies, providers, and internal teams. Through inbound and outbound patient interactions, you'll help ensure patients receive medications on time, navigate pharmacy processes, and maintain continuity of care.
Responsibilities
~1 min readπ Proactively coordinate medication refills, including data entry and pharmacy claim adjudication
π Make outbound patient refill calls and assist patients through the complete refill process
π Answer, resolve, and appropriately triage inbound patient and provider inquiries
π Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists and/or clinicians when appropriate
π Identify medications requiring special handling, including refrigerated or hazardous medications
π Manage, organize, and update patient and pharmacy information within database applications
π Assist pharmacies with prescription claim adjudication and resolution of claim processing errors
π Respond to questions regarding prescription coverage, fulfillment status, and pharmacy services
π Serve as a key point of contact between patients, pharmacies, pharmacy liaisons, clinical providers, and internal operational teams
π Identify trends, resolve challenges, recommend improvements, and support operational excellence initiatives
π Participate in process improvement efforts that enhance patient experience, productivity, quality, and service standards
π Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with all applicable policies and regulations
π Stay current on industry and organizational knowledge through ongoing education and professional development
π Support business and health system partner needs with flexible scheduling, including start times as early as 7:45 AM EST / 8:00 AM EST

Requirements
~1 min readβ Ability to obtain and maintain required state Pharmacy Technician registrations/licenses
β National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT or equivalent) required based on state requirements
β High School Diploma or GED
β 1β3 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
β Experience adjudicating pharmacy claims
β Experience managing medication refills and specialty pharmacy workflows
β Experience collaborating with clinical care teams
β Previous remote work experience
β Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages) strongly preferred to support our diverse patient populations
β Exceptional patient service and communication skills
β Professional and confident phone presence
β Comfortable proactively engaging patients by phone
β Ability to communicate effectively with clinicians, pharmacies, payors, and healthcare partners
β Strong organizational and time-management skills
β Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
β Ability to learn new technology, systems, and pharmacy platforms quickly
β Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately extract and document information
β Ability to multitask while maintaining quality and service excellence
β Bilingual communication skills are a plus and highly valued

To be successful in this remote position, team members must:

π» Participate on camera during most meetings with leaders and coworkers
