PostgreSQL Developer

Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled PostgreSQL Developer with strong experience in query optimization, performance tuning, and database architecture. The ideal candidate should be hands-on with schema design, stored procedures, replication, and large-scale data management. Key Responsibilities: Write and optimize complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures. Analyze and tune slow queries using EXPLAIN/EXPLAIN ANALYZE and pg_stat_activity. Manage and maintain multiple schemas, tablespaces, and partitions for optimal performance. Work with replication setups (active-active / active-passive) and handle failover scenarios. Implement and monitor backups, recovery, and high availability using tools like pg_dump, pg_restore, pgBackRest, or Barman. Manage database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query plan optimization. Handle data encryption, access control, and security configurations (pgcrypto, SSL/TLS). Work with Dockerized and cloud-hosted PostgreSQL environments (AWS/Azure). Develop and maintain reporting solutions using tools like Jasper Reports. Required Skills: Strong expertise in SQL and PL/pgSQL. Deep understanding of joins, CTEs, indexing, partitioning, and tablespaces. Experience with replication, WAL management, and checkpoint tuning. Knowledge of time-series databases (TimescaleDB/InfluxDB) is a plus. Exposure to database clustering and load management tools (pgpool-II, HAProxy). Good to Have: Experience with data migration, ETL, and performance monitoring tools. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
