Smart State Inc. is expanding!  We’re looking for a Senior HTML/Markup Developer to join our New Jersey‑based Product & R&D team.  If you love turning designs into performant, responsive layouts and partnering with designers and engineers, this role is a great opportunity to make a visible impact across our Digital Gaming and Fintech platforms.

📍 Location: Fort Lee, New Jersey (100% On-site)
⏰ Work Mode: Full-time, office-based (Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available)

The Role 🛠️
As a Senior HTML/Markup Developer, you’ll be hands‑on with high‑quality, fast, and adaptive user interface layouts for our web applications. You’ll help define front‑end standards, contribute to architecture and implementation, and collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure our interfaces are pixel‑perfect, performant, and aligned with business goals.

What You’ll Do 🚀

• Develop efficient, fast, and adaptive layouts for web application interfaces.
• Translate design assets from Figma, Sketch, or Photoshop into clean, responsive HTML/CSS.
• Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and product managers to refine UI/UX and improve the overall user experience.
• Introduce ideas, solutions, and optimizations to enhance existing applications and front‑end codebases.
• Help identify and fix front‑end technical issues, ensuring cross‑browser compatibility and smooth performance.
• Contribute to code reviews and front‑end best practices for markup, styling, and animations.

What We’re Looking For 🎯

• 5+ years of professional experience as an HTML coder / markup developer.
• Excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS, plus basic knowledge of JavaScript.
• Good understanding of UI/UX design principles and cross‑browser layout.
• Strong knowledge of CSS/JS animation.
• Experience working with CSS pre‑processors such as Sass or Less.
• Experience with Git and modern version control workflows.
• Solid understanding of web application performance optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with Figma, Sketch, or Photoshop for working with design assets.

Nice to Have ⭐

• Experience with Angular and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with front‑end build tools (e.g., Gulp, Webpack).
• Experience with CSS frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind).
• Experience working with template engines (Pug, Handlebars, etc.).
• Experience with Canvas API, WebGL, ThreeJS, or GSAP for advanced visuals and animations.
