IT Deployment Project Manager (Mid to Senior Level)

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient IT Deployment Project Manager to join our dynamic team, with a strong focus on the telecommunications (telco) industry. This role is crucial for the successful planning, execution, and final delivery of complex IT infrastructure and application deployment projects within a live, high-availability telco environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a minimum of three to five years of project management experience specifically within IT deployments, and a proven track record of leading technical teams to achieve project objectives on time and within budget, especially for large-scale, critical network and Operational Support Systems (OSS) system rollouts.

Responsibilities

● Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for various IT deployment initiatives, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, control, and closure.

● Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, objectives, schedules, and resource allocation.

● Serve as the primary point of contact and technical leader, effectively communicating project status, risks, and changes to all stakeholders, including senior management.

● Manage cross-functional technical teams (e.g., network engineers, system integrators, developers) and external vendors, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and effective collaboration.

● Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, especially those related to technical dependencies and integration challenges in a highly interconnected telco environment.

● Ensure all deployment processes and deliverables adhere to organizational standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements specific to the telecommunications sector.

● Oversee the change management process related to IT deployments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and customer service platforms.

● Conduct post-implementation reviews and document lessons learned to drive continuous improvement in project delivery methodologies.

● Coordinate with the testing and quality assurance teams to ensure successful technical verification and validation of deployed solutions.

● Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience managing IT deployment projects (e.g., data center upgrades, large-scale application rollouts, infrastructure refreshes), experience in the telecommunications sector preferred.

● Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

● Technical Proficiency: Strong technical understanding of modern IT infrastructure components, including but not limited to networking, operating systems (Linux), virtualization, and security protocols. Familiarity with common telco systems (e.g., core network elements) is a plus. The ability to effectively communicate with and challenge highly technical teams is essential.

● Certifications (Preferred): PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
