JANITOR CS Home: Westside LTC Location: Etobicoke, ON Hourly wage: starting at $22.93 Position: Janitor CS Status: Part-Time Schedule: Day shifts (6:30am-2:30pm)   Southbridge Care Homes provides exceptional acquisition, management, and redevelopment services for long-term care homes and retirement communities across Ontario. Reports to: Environmental Service Manager The Janitor provides essential support to the residence by maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, ensuring that residents live in a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained space.                            Key Responsibilities: Follow the home’s Preventive Maintenance Program as well as the Demand Maintenance Program Regularly perform the various tasks described in the programs Regularly checking completed maintenance logs in each department/home area of the home Complete repairs as necessary including not limited to: Painting, wall repair, small leak, install (toilet, sink, tiling, doors, replace light fixtures, install blinds) Check the operation of the mechanical equipment Inspect Life Safety equipment and systems Ensure safe storage of maintenance equipment Complete regular maintenance reports Complete pre-start up assessments on a new equipment as applicable Coordinate annual preventive maintenance checks by contractors; and Perform other duties as required Must be available for call ins on short notice Perform everything pertaining to maintenance including heavy duty related work   Knowledge and Skills Required: Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to read and write the English language. Experience in electrical, plumbing, patchwork, painting preferred Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures. Knowledgeable about WHMIS, OH & S High School Diploma College level trade certificate is an asset   Additional Requirements include: A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.
