Spire Murrayfield Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Quality and Governance Administrator to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a varied and rewarding position in which your administrative expertise will directly support the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will play a central role in coordinating Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings for our Breast and Gynaecology services, ensuring that clinicians have the accurate and timely information they need to make informed decisions about patient care.
You will also support the hospital’s wider clinical governance activities, including audit processes, incident management and the maintenance of corporate policies.

As Governance Administrator, you will provide a central point of contact throughout the administrative pathway for our cancer Multidisciplinary Teams.
Working closely with Breast and Gynaecology Nurse Specialists, clinicians and other healthcare professionals, you will ensure that all relevant clinical information is available for the patients discussed at each MDT meeting.
You will coordinate meetings, accurately document complex patient discussions and help monitor cancer pathways against local and national requirements. Your work will help the clinical teams identify potential delays, maintain accurate records and provide safe, efficient and well-coordinated care.
Responsibilities
~1 min readYour responsibilities will include:
- →Coordinating and administering Multidisciplinary Team meetings for the Breast and Gynaecology specialties
- →Preparing agendas, patient lists, clinical documentation and correspondence required for MDT meetings
- →Attending MDT meetings and accurately recording decisions, actions and complex patient discussions
- →Ensuring that supporting clinical information is available before each patient is discussed
- →Working closely with Nurse Specialists and the wider cancer teams to support the coordination of patient pathways
- →Monitoring patient pathways and helping the teams identify potential breaches of cancer waiting-time targets
- →Collecting, reporting and accurately recording cancer information in line with local and national requirements
- →Supporting audit activity, data collection and the maintenance of relevant cancer databases
- →Acting as a professional point of contact for patient enquiries and consistently providing outstanding customer service
- →Supporting clinical governance functions and processes, including AMaT audit activity and incident management
- →Assisting with the maintenance of the corporate policy tracker
- →Using hospital systems, including Ardeo, SAP, RIS, Carestream and CyberLab, to monitor, record and retrieve information relating to each patient’s pathway
- →Providing general administrative support to the Clinical Governance Coordinator
- →Completing assigned duties accurately and within the required timescales
We are looking for someone who can manage detailed and confidential information accurately while working effectively with a range of clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
- Previous administrative experience within healthcare, the NHS or the independent healthcare sector
- Knowledge of health record systems
- Experience of entering accurate and timely information into computer systems
- Experience of audit activity and data collection
- Strong computer skills, including confidence using databases and email
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to prioritise your workload and respond to changing demands
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The confidence to communicate professionally with colleagues across different clinical specialties and levels of seniority
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- An understanding of confidentiality and the importance of handling sensitive patient information appropriately
Experience of cancer pathways, clinical governance processes or MDT administration would be beneficial, but we also welcome applications from candidates with relevant transferable healthcare administration experience.
